OCCURRENCE OF OXYURID IN A TORTOISE FROM BRUNEI DARUSSALAM : FIRST REPORT

Abstract
Oxyurid nematodes (pinworms) are common gastrointestinal parasites of tortoises. A juvenile male Asian brown tortoise (Manouria emys), weighing 1.5 kg, presented to Paws N Claws, Veterinary Clinic, Kuilap, Brunei Darussalam, with mild diarrhea for two days. Fecal microscopy revealed oval, thick-shelled oxyurid eggs and concurrent Nyctotherus spp. protozoa.
